MCMC urges Apple users to update iOS immediately amid security risks

Following advisories issued by The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) dated 19 March 2026 and BM-CERT on 20 March 2026, we would like to alert you to critical security vulnerabilities affecting Apple iOS devices, including an exploit chain known as “DarkSword.” |
|
|
|
These vulnerabilities may potentially allow unauthorised access, data theft, device compromise, and surveillance. |
|
|
|
To safeguard your personal information and ensure secure access to CGS iTrade services, we strongly recommend that you take the following actions immediately: |

1. Update Your Device
Install the latest iOS updates and security patches on your iPhone and iPad as soon as possible.
2. Enable Automatic Updates
Ensure automatic updates are turned on so that future security fixes are installed promptly.
3. Install Apps Only from Trusted Sources Download applications only from official app stores. Avoid clicking on suspicious links or accessing untrusted websites.
4. Restart Your Device & Stay Vigilant
Regularly restart your device and monitor for any unusual behaviour, such as:
• Unexpected pop-ups
• Rapid battery drain
• Overheating
• Sluggish performance |
