Please be informed that U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) has recently launched a two-year Tick Size Pilot Program to widen the bid-ask spread in certain smaller capitalized issuers starting from 3 Oct 2016.
The purpose of the program is for the SEC to collect data and evaluate the impact on trading, liquidity and market quality by widening the tick size for those identified securities of smaller capitalisation companies
There are 1200 securities being selected by FINRA*(subject to changes) to participate in this programme which all of these 1200 securities will be included in by 31 October 2016
Hence, in order for successful order submission, you are advised to enter the order with the correct tick size of 5 cent increments (For eg : USD 0.05, USD 0.10, USD 0.15 etc) for the affected securities.
